Round 1, Game 2 Preview

From Mark Purdy, San Jose Mercury News

"Opportunism: The Sharks should be glad that the second game in the series is tonight, if only to quickly demonstrate that they believe what they were saying after Wednesday's result. That this was only one game and the next one can be different with some adjustments.

Correct enough. Still, one game is hardly meaningless. The numbers show that since 1919 in the NHL, the team that wins Game 1 of a best-of-seven series has advanced 69 percent of the time. But the team that wins both Game 1 and Game 2 has advanced 87 percent of the time.

The obvious advice for our beloved Los Tiburones this evening: Don't put yourself on the wrong side of that 87 percent."

man. i feel our dreams of bringing home the cup all depends on the outcome of tonight's game.
