Jeremy Roenick quote

from this morning's mercury news...

"With failure comes humbleness, and I dont think guys want to be humbled anymore. I think some guys are tired of being the best team that's never gotten anything."

Lord have mercy on my Sharks.

We will need divine providence to win this darn Cup. A bounce here and bounce there and the Cup will be in Silicon Valley this year.

Lame Sharks Fans

If you call yourself a Sharks fan then you should be ashamed of yourself if you missed tonight's classic.

Unreal....still catching my breath.. (Of course some on this blog have no idea what I'm talking about )

Playoff Type Games

Sharks lost a playoff type game to Calgary on Thursday and are ready for another big huge game tonight against the defending champs.

A few notes
* Nabokov needs to stand up on his head not only tonight but come Spring time

* Vlasic needs to take the occasional risk in the offensive zone instead of dumping the puck in all the time.

*Pavs and Clowey need to pick up their game on the 2nd line

* Error has to pick up the slack in his own zone. Way to many boneheaded plays

The Detroit Red Wings are still the defending champs. They, IMO have more skill than the Sharks. The only way the Sharks can beat them in a 7 game series is with superior goaltending and more will/determination. Otherwise the Sharks will get picked apart from a team that is better at passing, puck possession and breakouts in their own zone.

Not to brag but..oh what the heck I will gloat a little =P

Dan Boyle now leads the NHL in points by a defensemen. This guy has been a stud all year and will continue to be for years to come. As Drew said, we should be thanking Campbell for leaving instead of booing him. Thank you Doug Wilson for pulling another brilliant trade!

Not that my email had anything to do with it but...below is an email I wrote to Doug Wilson a year ago (12/19/07)

Hi,

I've been a fan since 94 and have been going to at least a dozen games a year. I don't know why this team lacks passion/intensity for important games, but I do know this:
Our Defensemen are offensively challenged.

If you have been watching, I'm sure you will agree our D men have an adventure when it comes to breaking out of own zone or setting up on the power play.

I am a firm believer that you need at least one bona fide power play QB. Our last truly legitimate player was Gary Suter.

This past summer Souray, Rafalski, Schneider were available. I do believe Dany Markov is still out there too. Why couldn't we pick up any of them? Esp: Rafalski?

If you truly want to win the Cup as you contend, then we need to either develop that power play QB or trade for one.

Sincerely,
Ting
